Souvenirs.
Here's a short history how the was founded;
The convent of the Sto. Niño de Cebu was founded by Fr. Andres de Urdaneta on April 28, 1565 , the very day the Legazpi-Urdaneta expedition arrived in the island. On May 8 of the same year, when Legaspi and his men planned the urbanization of the city, they allotted a "place for the church and the convent of San Agustin, "where the Santo Niño image had been found." (basilicasantonino.org.ph)
The church reminds me of spanish era, that time when people were addressed as Don and Donya or Señor and Señora. with all the arts(arte) of wealthy familes. HAHA. Idk why but when I started to pray the feeling was kinda different my emotions are piling and tears stream down my cheeks slowly, the holiness of the place is hovering . We weren't able to enjoy the scenery outside the church because of the scorching sun. It's too hot like we were being barbequed, my skin can't take it! HAHA. They're like renovating some parts of the church, even the souvenir shop was closed during our visit. Likewise, the Magellan's Cross is under construction. Few blocks from the cross are different souvenir shops and we bought pasalubongs like keychains, tshirts, and more.
